I am 5'7" and about 166lbs.

I am solid and look like I weigh less than I am...but...I am still overweight, I think.

Does anyone have any weight loss methods that have really worked?

I work out about 7 hours a week! And I watch my calorie intake and eat very healthy foods. But, I still can't seem to lose weight. I get hungry even when I eat enough for the day. Has anyone tried anything that has really worked?

I can't afford things like Weight Watchers.

Personal experiences, please.

Thanks!

  1. i lose weight by just eating when i was hungry. eat foods that are high in protein so you won't get hungry.

  2. become a vegan and eat only 3 meals a day with 1 small snack in between

  3. well i'm 5'6 and used to weigh 154 pounds. after i lost the first 20 pounds very slowly trying this and that, I tried a drastic diet of eating 600 calories a day for about a week. The food included no, wheat and very small amounts of sugar. In the morning , i would make a giant tuna salad filled with veg and hot pepper sauce for flavor. I snaked off this all day. Then at around 6pm i would have oatmeal made with splendor sugar and soya milk ( 200 calories ). Now i did run at the end of the day for about 30 - 50 minutes and do Pilate's for toning and drink plenty water..... The point is i lost 7 pounds in 10 days! which made me 122 pounds.

From here you add 100 calories day until your body comes out of starvation mode ( 1000 - 1200 a day ). I began doing this for three more days and still was losing water, so dropped 3 more pounds.

The other trick is to have a break! after the first week and a half for about two days ( but don't stop exercising.. This plays with your metabolism which can be bad BUT will help your body continue to drop when you go back on the diet.

Lastly RUNNING is VERY effective in my experience. The better you become at it, the better you'll feel and the faster your general metabolism.

Well, I hope you got some ideas and good luck.

  4. well I am 5'2" and 120 lbs and I'm trying to lose weight but I'm not really telling anyone because I'm 12.  I told my parents I was going to start running for hockey, to get into better shape. But I told them that I didn't want to go running outside, so they bought me a treadmill and I am losing weight VERY fast. So try just running a lot, you got to push yourself, and don't eat junk food.

  5. It's not always about the numbers. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you have a good base of muscle, you may actually weigh more but have less fat.

You should go by how you feel, and if you are happy with your body. You sound quite healthy from what you've said. You could try drinking water when you get hungry after eating. We tend to mistake thirst for hunger, so make sure you're not dehydrated.

    Good luck.

  6. Eat less calories then you burn and you will lose weight. Also keep in mind your body burns calories based on your body weight in order to maintain thought process and body temp. Calculate that and go from there.

  7. go  wheat  free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7

p.m.  People  achieve  marvellous  results  with it. Depending on your

initial  weight,  you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat  wheat  then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't  eat  junk  food,  and  you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is

still  balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or

to buy special meals or plans.

I was referred a weight loss program by a doctor at my hospital.
