Weight training for endurance or strenght? help please!?

i dont want bulging arms but i want to increase my strenght and tone up. i swim and run. what would be the besst weight training for me?

  1. endurance training builds up your endurance so you can run, swim, or bike longer and faster. since you want to tone up you want to follow strength training because it builds muscle and tones you. my dad and i both follow this weight lifting circuit and neither of us have gotten bulging arms...just very nicely toned arms and legs!

  2. Muscles can be either strong or able to work for long periods of time, you can't effectively do both.

    Strength means larger muscles able to lift more

    Endurance means able to keep working for long periods of time - think marathon
