I have broken my foot so out of action for 6 weeks. I have started doing weightwatchers online today, but was just wondering if it works without doing any exercise and is there anything I can do to make it more effective. I want to loose about 2 stone.

  1. Hi yep it does and thats why its a really good diet and does actually work, it is designed for people with difficultie with moverabilitiy etc. I just wasnt losing anyweight excercising for 1 hour everday as well as cutting down so this was the last straw for me, so I went for 3 month and lost a stone and the best things is that I didnt excercise once, I would of lost more weight but I was a little cheecky and didnt always stick to my points but if you want to lose more quicker just do it properly.

I am currently expceting will do this diet again if I  need to lose my baby weight as it the only thing that works,

  2. You can't just sit there for 6 weeks! - not healthy.

Google 'exercises when sitting down' for some ideas.

The suggestions there should help your dieting to be more effective.

  3. weightloss in general is very hard to pull off without exersize

too powerful of a tool for u not to use

doenst hurt to eat healthier tho

    get well soon!

  4. Weight Watchers can work, as long as you stick to the plans.  It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.  My wife has been on it and she's lost 15 lbs, when she stuck to it.  They teach you how to eat in moderation and for your body type.  Exercise will make it more effective, but it not dependent upon it.  You just have to be honest with yourself when you keep track of the points.

Just be patient with results.  They may take a few weeks to show, as your body is getting used to the new way that you're eating.

  5. Just about every diet ever invented will work if you follow it, but only for the short term. Weight always comes back.

Exercise is much better for your health than dieting is. Dieting is short-term only, exercise improves your health for the long-term even if you don't lose weight. But obviously, you're going to be limited in exercise for a while. (Sorry about your foot!)

That said, since you can't be very active for the moment, doing a diet plan so that you don't unexpectedly gain weight while you're out of action is not a bad idea.

  6. No diet will be very effective without exercise. Just continue with your diet and resume exercise once your foot is better
