Weird Activity at a Park?

In town there is a little zoo with a playground right outside of it. The other day I was driving past and saw a group of people. They were wearing black and the women all had black veils. they were all lifting their hands up towards the sky. what the heck was going on? I mean this was at a childrens playground

Maybe they were Wiccans.

I would say they were muslims because that's how they pray. If they were all facing the same direction then they were facing Mecca. They pray in the libraries here at my university as well. Freedom of religion I guess.
