I had this so called dream or whatever a couple weeks bakc, but it still bugs me.

Alright I was sleeping on my stomach& i wasn't sure if i was dreaming or awak but my whole body started like vibrating! like you know that feeling you get when your foot falls asleep? well thats how my whole body ffelt! but once i would fully wake up it would stop!

Once I started to fall more asleep it got stronger and stronger! OMG i was terrified i was like wth! THEN while i was sleeping on my stomache my right hand started to raise on its own! Then I would force my self to wake up so everything could stop but once I'd start to fall asleep again my hand would raise& I eventually forced my hand to go down!

I was really scared& i kept praying! then finally i had a normal sleep. Why do you think that happened to me?

&has anybody had something similar to this dream?

  1. Aye, I experience that feeling all the time, but normally only when I hypnotize myself, it's quite fun, but nothing supernatural.

I also agree about lucid dreaming, there's nothing wrong with them, in fact if you learn to control them you can practice your skills (I.E. driving, tennis, and other hand-eye cordinating skills and when you wake up your skill will have improved.

  2. It was a out of body experience and yes when it happen for the first time ; its scary ; and yes you did the right thing in praying .; if it ever happen again ; start to pray and it will stop

  3. You might have had a sleep paralysis attack.(when your conscious separates from your sub couscous) Sometimes it will cause yo u to hallucinate coming out of your body.  Also when you have an attack your body is asleep but your mind isn't so you are half asleep/half awake

  4. I think I had something like this last night. I posted a question similar. It really is scary and I wish there was a better explanation.

  5. That is called a lucid dream.  Lucid dreams are best described as consciously knowing that you're dreaming. That sounds a lot like what you just described.  In lucid dreams, you're asleep, but also conscious enough to recognize that you're dreaming.  There is nothing wrong with lucid dreaming, many people have experienced them (including me).  In fact, some people go so far as to say that they can "control" their lucid dreams!

Have fun with your new discovery.

PS: Some people have mentioned sleep paralysis. It is quite possible that you have experienced sleep paralysis, though it is highly unlikely because:

    1. Sleep paralysis usually involves hallucinations (seeing/hearing things that aren't there), and you didn't describe any of these.

    2. You were sleeping on your stomach, and sleep paralysis normally occurs when sleeping on your back.

    3. Sleep paralysis is when your body is completely paralyzed, and I don't think you were paralyzed as you said you "forced your hand down."

What you experienced was most likely a lucid dream, not sleep paralysis.
