Weird Teeth problem? need help!?

Ok I really need to know the name of this teeth problem, and I need to know how you can fix it.

The bottom teeth are normal but and most of the top is 2 except for 4 teeth. To make it simple here's how it looks(sort of):

/__//__/ ...........\__\\__\

..........|___||___|

the middle teeth are normal as you can see but the ones next to them appear to have grown a little bit higher than the other.

help!

Firstly, i know it sounds stupid but is the sufferer over the age of 15? if not they may just be taking time to come through.  But lets say they are older.  The best thing is to see a dentist, but sometimes teeth stop each other from fully erupting through the oral mucosa.  If so it maybe possible to extract a tooth on either side to encourage he other tooth to erupt through.  Though orthodontics maybe able to solve the problem without any surgery! Best to try and retain as many teeth as possible.
