Ok, so when I am laying in bed and I am trying to fall asleep. I will hear voices that sound as if they are standing right next to me. Like I have heard my mom and dad's voice before, and I would look up and no body would be there. And sometimes it would be random voices that I dont know who they were. It doesnt happen daily, but a couple times a month..

Any ideas?

  1. Ok, do you believe in ghosts?  Or maybe you should see a professional.  Also, I think emotions and unresolved issues can manifest themselves and you believe what you want to believe.  But, I am no professional...you should see one.  No shame.

  2. Same thing used to happen to me. I would hear my family members voices and it was pretty scary. I'm actually still getting over it.

But its all subconscious thinking. What I do to get some sleep, I picture myself doing something. Like i'll imagine myself riding a horse or playing a sport or something, and usually I fall asleep while thinking about whatever.

    Hope everything works out!

  3. it could be a haunting or a ghost.. no bullshit i belive in that stuff

  4. I've had similar experiences.  I think it's just your brain thinking out REAL LOUD.

  5. um freaky much if u live in a house where other ppl have been im gonna say i no this sound stupid but um ghost

  6. early signs of multiple personality disorder?

  7. Logical answer: Skitzophrenia, Psychological problem

    Other answer: Telepathic?

Second Other answer: You are causing it and need to stop doing it

  8. what you are experiencing right now is what is called a " hypnogogic hallucination" they often occur as you are falling asleep and are most often characterized by the voice ( often a familiar one) calling your name. It is not a sign of encroaching insanity and happens to everyone at some point in their life. if it starts happening when you are fully awake( in the daytime) then you may have a problem but as long as it only happens as you are falling asleep its normal and okay

  9. Yeah, sounds to me like schizophrenia. Don't worry, you're deffinitely not some sort of psychopath freak who needs to be locked up or something, just get some help. ;)

  10. people with active schizophrenia usually do not recognize they are ill. I have experienced what you describe before and it happens when I am almost asleep, so I think its the beginning of a dream. Just some misfiring in your brain cells. People with schizophrenia are gravely ill and have other symptoms besides auditory and visual hallicinations. They also have delusions and sometimes feelings of persecution, trouble comprehending the passage of time, forget to bathe and eat, etc. Their behavior seems bizarre because they are responding to things other people do not see or hear. It's a horrible illness and I feel deep sympathy for its victims. Medication can help a great deal. I do not believe you have this illness.

  11. I hear it to, i just think im remembering stuff that i heard that day though

  12. Those are Hypnagogic Hallucinations. They occur as you are falling asleep. A lot of people have them, it's quite normal.

"Hypnagogic hallucinations are episodes of seeing and hearing things as one is falling asleep. Hypnagogic hallucinations are dreams that intrude on wakefulness, which can cause visual, auditory, or touchable sensations. They occur between waking and sleeping, usually at the onset of sleep. "

Edit: If it happens during the day but mostly at night, you might have just been tired or under stress. That's happened to me before, too.

  13. Lay off the weed.

No really, you should see somebody about this.

  14. All i can say is that's not healthy but its not bad - yet.

If you start hearing voices telling you to do something negatively you need to see a doctor because you may have schizophrenia

Otherwise it is called a auditory hallucination which is a symptom of schizophrenia or another mental dissorder.

  15. yeah, stronger drinks or sleeping pills should cure your problem.

  16. Actually I did read it in the paper once that's it's not all that uncommon for this to happen.

Sometimes these things can occur at times of stress etc.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you start hearing the devil or something.

  17. skitzophrenia?

  18. This has happened to me as well!

    It is astral projections....

When you're falling asleep you're entering an altered state of mind and you're tapping into a different realm.

You should read up on this stuff, it's really interesting!
