missy had her kittens about 2 weeks ago..ever since missy had her kittens..her sister piggy would not go near missy or her kittens and piggy would groul and hiss at missy and her kittens. and i made a box for the other cat.piggy..they are both sisters. last night missy brought her kittens into her sisters box and piggy started feeding missy's kittens. i wake up this morning...and found them both in the box with the kittens and missy was helping piggy give birth. they both are in the same box now..feeding their own kittens and looking after their own and eachothers. is this normal?

  1. It’s normal… animals are known to ‘adopt’ other animal babies.  I think it’s cute.  Her maternal instinct was also probably in overdrive since she was pregnant as well.

I do hope you’ll get them spayed once the kittens are weaned though.

  2. Very normal. Cats will even nurse another cat's kittens.

  4. Yes, this is very normal. When cats are close, they'll help each other out with the kittens. Sometimes it's difficult to know which kittens belong to each mom! They'll even nurse each others kittens. This is totally fine, just as long as all the kittens are getting attention.

  5. no i dont think so piggy was just probably jealous of missy and she just decided to end their problems so she helped her

  6. yes.
