There is a weird bug that we found in the garden and i dont have a picture but i will discribe it. It is about two and a half centimeters long from its head to the end of its stinger. It has a small head ith big black eyes, it has a fuzzy black back and a black butt with dull yellow stripes. It has tan wings and its skinny. It has six long legs that look like fly legs except longer, and it's feet are red. It looks like a stretched out fly and it buzzes when it moves. Does anyone know what kind of bug this is and if it is going to destroy my garden or not? Thanks.

  1. Sounds nasty looking. If it has a stinger it might just be eating bugs and spreading pollen. If you have seen it on leaves and the leaves had not been munched on this may be another good indication that you have a good bug. I'd keep a close eye on it. If you can catch one and bring it to the nursery they may be able to identify it. Good luck and happy gardening!

  2. A cockchafer (may-bug or june-bug) perhaps?

  3. It sounds like some type of trigger.

  4. Any bug in the wasp or fly family like the one you describe is not harmful to gardens.

Its other species like locusts or caterpillars or certain types of beetles that can potentially be harmful.

  5. It sounds like a wasp in red pumps… s**y!
