Weird chicken symptoms?

We have 12 new baby chicks, that hatched around 2-3 weeks ago. Today, We noticed one that had unusually long legs and it couldnt keep up with the rest! It had to sit down for a minute because it had to rest, then it would jump up and try to catch back up! Then my dad found it later on today and it wasnt doing to well. We brought it inside and gave it food and of course made sure it had water, and we examined it, but its feet werent hurt. Then we noticed it had fallen asleep in my hand immediately, and that it was opening its beak also. Thats usually not a good sign. Its been peeping its heart out the past few days, so do you think its just trying to peep, and i KNOW its not thirsty, and its not hot in the room. What type of sickness does it have, if any?

  1. I wouldn't worry about the peeping.  If you put it in a box indoors to keep it warm and safe, it probably just misses his playmates.  Actually, I'd consider the peeping a good sign.

I'm sorry to say, not all baby chicks survive.  Keep it warm and make sure it has food and water.  It's best to keep him in a quiet place away from noise and bother.  All you can do is wait and see.

  2. It may of went to sleep cuz it was tired of trying to keep up also from warmth of hands and for the condition cant say for sure opening beak is breathing maybe the peep was exhausted from running their could be a problem with tiny heart(not a vet) it may not be sick maybe some thing inside body is not right and this happens and some peeps were not meant to live sorry Ive had peeps die and for what reason I don't know even full size chickens so watch and care for the best you can and hope peep lives for you.
