Weird little spider?!?

Ok my boyfriend doesnt believe me so I need some help. I was moping yesterday and i saw this little black spider. So Im looking at it and it started jumping, so im watching it and well it was jumping the legs got bigger!! So I told this to my boyfriend and he said that I was crazy and seeing things. Is thier any spiders like that and if so what is the name?

The jumping spider holds its legs close to its body.  It can run with its legs held close or it can push them out and run faster.  It catches its prey by jumping on it.  If you tap your finger in front of it, it will raise its front legs in an attack mode and jump at your finger.
