ok, so i am very close with my mom. ever since i was little we have always randomly said the same things at the same times, or for example i would think of something completely random out of the blue and then she would randomly say something about it. or the same for her. she would think something and that topic would randomly pop into my mind and i'd say something having to do with that randomly and she would just look at me and then be like, oh my god! i was just thinking about it. tonight at her birthday dinner, we said two things at the exact same time. at the beginning of the dinner, i gave her a card saying i hoped she lived for 40 more years because she turned the big 4-0 today. so everyone comes out and sings and she goes to make her wish and randomly i freak out and go.. MOM! WISH THAT YOU WILL LIVE FOR 40 MORE YEARS! and she starts laughing and looks at me and goes.. oh my god! i wished that. oh and if i get a minor injury, in the next week, she has the same type of injury in the same place. i scrap my arm, she scraps her arm randomly like 3 days later? its weird. any suggestions why this could happen so much? she is my birth mother and she has lived with me for my entire life, 15 years.

  1. Some situations trigger you to think about certain things. If you and your mother are both triggered to think about the same things, then it is not that odd to have similar thoughts. Sometimes though, injuries and things only seen so similar, because you think they are. It could be something totally different, but your mind likes to think that there is something more going on.

  2. well i heard about this thing called telepathyyy. i mean me and you are biffs and we practically come out and say the same things all the time. so you and your mom may have your moments when u two do the same things. i really don't have any scientifical answer. but i guess thats my though on your question.. oh and tell your mom i said happy birthday. and didn't tell when we were in the car :]

  3. Well if you want a realistic explanation as to why these things can happen, I think you are both experiencing the same external triggers.

Here's an example: Two people are in separate locations, but are close relatives so they both listen to the same radio station, & at this time they have their radios playing quietly in the background.

Neither one is paying close attention to what is being played on the station, but the station plays a song that for both of these people triggers a memory of an event in their lives that they shared some time ago. So one of them picks up the phone & calls the other to tell that person they were thinking of them. The other says "OMG!, I was thinking about that exact same thing just before you called"

Neither one actually noticed what song was on the radio at the moment that they both experienced the momory, so both of them agree that they must have some sort of a psychic connection.

That is just an example that might explain some of what is going on between you & your mom. However, you are both very close so if you want to believe that you both have a shared sixth sense then what harm can holding that belief possibly do?

So believe what brings you the most comfort, either shared external triggers, or a psychic connection between a mother & daughter.

    Perhaps a bit of both.

  4. Well Happy Birthday to your mom first and i hope she lives another 40 years plus....My mother and i have a weird connection to, we think the same do the same things I'm just glad we are not the same size anymore so she doesn't borrow my clothes LOL.  Everyone thinks she is my sister and not my mom, wait is that saying i look old if she looks young.  LOL We share a house now, well actually a large ranch, i love living with her.  On Saturdays we spend the day together watching the scifi channel, we love both love scary movies...We also have another weird connection...Both my mother and i suffer from a rare disorder, never has there been two people in the same family with it.  We did play guinea pigs for the US government but that got old quick so we are in medical books LOL.  Vacationing with her is a blast, our last trip to New York was an adventure, I'm going to surprise her with a trip to Hawaii hopefully this year, that is if i can get someone to tend to the horses and other livestock....I love my mother she is my best friend, i spoil her, i will buy my mother whatever she asks for...New car no problem...I figure she gave me everything i could ask for as a kid, its my time as an adult to take care of her.  Love you mema (my name for her)
