Weird occurance while dreaming.... Outside senses inside your dream? ?

One time when I was sleeping, I was having a really weird dream. I was sleeping on my grandmother's couch, and my dream was that I was bouncing a quarter off the floor. Then, once the quarter hit the floor, at that EXACT, precise moment, I heard a bang! I immediately woke up because of the noise and discovered that something had fallen. So, how can I be dreaming something that will make a noise, and then when the noise occurs, something around me makes a noise?

I had a dream one time that I was in a convenience store. And the moment I touched a candy bar an alarm went off in the store and the clerk started yelling at me. When I woke up the alarm was still going off and I realized it was my alarm clock.

Stuff like that happens all the time. My friends have told me about dreams like that too. I don't know how it works, but it is fairly common.

In your dream, the quarter may have just kept bouncing quietly.  But your peaceful dream of bouncing a quarter was interrupted by the real life crash.  When you heard the crash, your mind was still in a dream state and so your mind incorporated that sound into your dream.
