Weird or not weird?

Question

Right now i am currently in Alaska and it is almost 1 in the morning but it is bright enough outside that if there was a blackout, you could still walk around outside even with all of the power off.

how weird is this?

I grew up thinking of North America's Far North as The Land of the Midnight Sun (as a tween I was big on the poetry of Robert Service) but I was really shocked when night didn't fall in Edinburgh till after eleven (in July). I had never noticed that Edinburgh is about as far north as Hudson Bay.

I visited my cousin in the Yukon in Dawson City (so like, a few hours from Alaska) and it was midnight and it looked like it was the early afternoon. It only got dark at 2am and got light again at 3am.

That was in the summer.

So like, yeah, that's normal. It happens in the summer in the North xD
