Question:

Weird shaking???

Like 20 min. ago ther was a big BOOM! sound, and my place shook enough (only 1-2 sec.) to lift my comp. monitor in the air about a half inch! and wasnt like an earthquake caus i live in michigan! could of ther been an explosion?

  1. It could have, possibly, been an earthquake. I live in the mountains of western North Carolina, which, I thought, was about as far from an earthquake-prone area as you could really get. But a few years ago there was this deep rumble and the ground shook once, just enough to shift my bed and make me wonder what the idiots downstairs had done! lol

    The USGS explained that it had most likely been caused by a cave deep in the mountains collapsing.

    Or, then again, it might've been a sonic boom. lol

    It wouldn't be anything out of your local airport. Very very few private planes can break the sound barrier (and most of those are retired military planes). Also, if it was a sonic boom, then that pilot is going to be in a lot of trouble. It's against federal law to fly at supersonic speeds over the continental US (outside of certain areas like enormous training areas in the dessert southwest).
