Ok my teacher told my class to do a project over the summer.I really DON'T want to do it because I'll be with a total new teacher...I won't even see him next year, I'll have a new teacher for that summer. Should I do the project...It really doesn't make since to do it to me. Should I?

  1. I would do it just to be on the safe side.

  2. Well if your new teacher doesn't require you to do that project then I don't see any reason to do it if you will not be penalized.

  3. i think you should do it (pretty good stuff to know =D ) , dont hand it in, but if you see other people handing it in then i guess its your choice.. and it isn't that hard naming contients and oceans, you could just get then off the internet in 5 seconds =P

  4. If you won't get credit for the project, and will have another teacher, I don't see how you can be penalized for not doing it. However, if you feel you will benefit from doing it, then pursue the project . . . but as a personal goal.

  5. I studied Russian at Moscow State University in the summer of 2001.  My Russian tutor gave me six hours of homework on the last day, even though I was coming back to the United States and would never see her again.  What do you think I did?  Of course I did the work!  It's a matter of responsibility.

When I was in high school I learned all the European countries and capitals.  Who assigned that?  Absolutely no one.  It was done because I wanted to do it.  You are talking about a project of labeling continents and oceans only?  A "project" that could be done in less than a minute?  I assume there is more to it than that because that is no summer project.  But anyway, if you can't be bothered with something as easy as continents and oceans, we'll that's just sad.  You should do the project, if only just for yourself.

Sad to say I live along a coastal area of California and I've heard of cases where students around here don't know where the Pacific Ocean is.  Hey, look out the window.

  6. If he gave you an assignment, the chances are that he has an arrangement with your new teacher to collect the project at the beginning of the school year.  Unless you want to get off on a bad footing with the new teacher, you should definitely do it.

  7. I would recommend doing it, just in case your new teacher wants the same.  Plus, it should help prepare you for your classes.

  8. If you can learn a valuable lesson from this project, then I would do it. I think everything is for a reason, and you could benefit from this project. Try to have fun.

  9. Seriously whats so hard about the whole continent/ country thing? I mean how long could that possibly take you 2 hours at the very most? Just from your question I can tell that you're NOT a serious student because if you were you would do the project without asking any differently!!!

  10. Maybe all the teachers at your school got together and decided to require the same project of all their incoming students. Maybe when you get to the new class everyone else will have done it and you will be the only one who didn't.

You could do it the easy way and it would probably take only a half hour out of your lazy summer. And it would be good to have recently reviewed that info, it will give you a leg up for the new class.

Or you could do it the interesting way and make an abstract painting out of it, or some other fun variation. You don't need to whine over it. Just enjoy.
