Question:

Weird weather here. Any thoughts?

I'd like to call it the Minnesota Monsoon Season. This whole week it's supposed to rain, and I'm not exaggerating a little bit. I haven't seen it rain for more than 10 days in a row before. The past 2 weekends we've had tornadoes in the area, and tomorrow there is supposed to be severe weather with the possibility of tornadoes as well. It almost feels like 'tornado alley' has shifted upwards a little.

What are some views on this? Could anyone give me a little insight as to why it might be acting like this? The temps have been unseasonably cool, so it's not like it's been very hot. It's been mid 60's to low 70's this whole time. So it's not like it's 'warming' so much. The weather just seems to be doing the...tango here.

Thoughts?

  1. drought from global warming...this seasonal change is too weird even in other places throughout the world the seasons are shifting rather strangely and there are parts where there should be rain is getting rather dry

  2. actually, if your in america, and in Alaska then theres a sign of global warming but if you r staying near mexico then its probably kind of delayed monsoons.

This is the very first signs of global warming :

!) Monsoons fail  2) crops die 3) animals die of thrist

    4) acid rain falls 5) heavy pollutants like CO2 and SO2 blocks the clouds and doesn't allow sunlight

Finally ice forms due 2 lack of warmth.

Try 2 prevent the final stages atleast.

  3. I monitor this web page - and have noticed FAR more cloud cover than normal:

This lends credibility to Svensmark's Theory on cloud covers:

The Sun has not truly begun Solar Cycle 24 - it's about 2 years overdue:

  4. it's cold in chicago too.  we had a colder than normal winter, with a ton of snow, and we are experiencing the coldest summer that i remember since only one in the '90s and many back in the '50s.

the earth has had climate changes ever since it became a planet.

the earth gets warm; the earth gets cold.

it's all tied to solar activity.  mars has gotten warm, then it will get cold, and then it will get warm again.  jupiter is now warm, and then it will get cold, and then it will get warm.

al gore should be buried in the cold earth, which always, everywhere on the planet, is 52 degrees fahrenheit.  he should be buried under the rubble of paper "carbon credits" that he pays himself commissions on, when he purchases them.  he should be buried in luxury on the $40 billion he has saved by investing in Exxon.  he should be buried under as many copies of "an inconvenient truth," with all its skewed data and outright lies, that exist on this planet, especially in the schools that are run by the idiot (like him) politicians in washington, DC, that have fostered the dumbing down of our children, who are now afraid to breathe the air, because when they exhale CO2, they haven't yet had time to plant a tree!

i'm an old f**t here.  believe me:  in the 1950s and '60s in chicago, we had cold and snowy winters.  you too will regain them, because the earth is now getting colder following solar activity that created a warm spell, and nothing else created it.

why do ya all waste your mental energy worrying?

  5. Whether you're a Protestant, Muslim, Jew, agnostic or atheist, you have to believe that the "powers that be" are at work.

Whether you believe in an evolutionary "big bang theory", "fate", "Mother Nature', "Allah", "Buddha", and "intelligent designer" or "God", you should be cognizant of the fact that the world is changing dramatically.

The Christians' "God" promised Noah He would never send another global flood. But He never said anything about tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis, droughts or earthquakes. Maybe it's time we Earthlings straighten up and stop squandering all of the planet's natural resources. Maybe it's time we stopped putting ourselves ahead of the global community. Perhaps "God" has had enough of our arrogance, avarice, gluttony, sloth, ignorance, and hubris. Maybe He's ready to take back the Earth He created since we haven't been the responsible stewards He expected. Maybe....... -RKO-  06/04/08

  6. its problely the jet stream just moved because i heard that our weather  in  Britain had a similer problem but were had more thunderstorms and sometimes giant hail which caused it.

  7. Last years lack of development of tropical storms into hurricanes, was due to the heat energy from the tropics moving northward toward the pole. The record number of sub-tropical storms was the result.  That energy is still affecting the northern latitudes.  It's been above normal in the Gulf of Mexico.  It's the clash of extremes in the atmosphere that make weather reach severe levels.  Temps have been cooler across the northern latitudes. This is exactly what was predicted to happen with the climate change from AGW!  The ever widening parameters of severe weather events is a sign that AGW is rapidly changing the climate!  You're in for some more severe weather,so batten down the hatches!
