So, I have work tomorrow, and I'm working with the manager (whose an adult in her 40's) and a girl who graduated from high school this year. I'm only 15. I'm really shy and I have been making a real effort to be outgoing and talkative at work. I have no idea what to talk to them about!

  1. Start with the weather, that is always a good opener. You could also talk about favorite bands and such. Just be yourself.

  2. whatever they bring up. otherwise just smile and make eye contact

  3. It's alright. It's normal to feel shy. I was in a similar situation just the other day- hanging out with a new friend! I freaked out for two hours beforehand, then when we actually met, I was nervous for 5 minutes and realized it wasn't a big deal. More than likely, they'll start conversation with you, too.  Is the girl going to college? If so ask her about it, she's likely very excited and would love to talk about it. Don't be worried, they're not going to think you're an idiot or think badly of you in any way. You'll do just fine! Give yourself a pat on the back before you go in and a boost of self-confidence, nothing's going to go wrong, and it seems the more you think about it the worse it gets. Just go in there and be natural. (Try) to have fun at work!

  4. Just try and find out what they like, I am in a similar situation except I am 16 and my manager is in his 30's. I just talked to him about sports since we are both guys, though it might be different for you. Talk about what girls talk about with your manager and that other girl. Ask the high school girl who graduated for advice on high school even if you don't need it.
