Manchester United’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 has gone on to reveal that he was turned down by Manchester City, prior to him ending up at Old Trafford.
Back when Welbeck was eight years old, he was turned down by City, only to be accepted by United days later.
When talking about the incident and how it went on to impact his career, the young forward is quoted to have said: “My Dad didn’t tell me at the time, it was just before Christmas and he didn’t want to break any bad news.”
“It wouldn’t have mattered though. I am one of those people that if you are going to say something, just say it. I take it on the chin.”
“Straight after Christmas I played in a tournament for my local side, Fletcher Moss, and that’s where United picked me up. I went for a trial and have never looked back since. I was always a Red anyway.”
Welbeck then went on to admit that his life at Old Trafford was like a dream and that it was brilliant to work with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736.
He admitted that despite Rooney being a Scouser and him being a Manc, they still got along great, since they knew that they were representing United at the end of the day and no one else.
At the current moment in time, United are sitting in the second spot in the league table, despite being level on points with Manchester City.
However, should the Red Devils go on and beat Fulham tonight, they would claim a three point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Even if the team does go on and pick up this lead, it is safe to say that United would drop points sooner rather than later.
Nonetheless, with both the teams from Manchester set to take on one another on the 30th of April, the game between the two could prove to be the title decider.
With Welbeck set to prove a point to City for turning him down in the past, the striker is more than likely going to be the man to watch in the game.
