I am going to buy a welder to fix rust on my car and to fabricate some parts i am wondering what is the best way to go, I here arc is better for thicker metals but mig is better for thinner metals. And the mig has one that you can use with or without sheilding gas for facricating parts will it be better for a mig with flux wire or a argon gas one and i was wondering if the arc welder is good on thin metal.

So my question is what kind or welder would be better for car repair and fabrication.

  1. In my opinion a wire feed welder with gas (argon,co2)is the best
I say this for two reasons first is its easier to weld thin metal and even fill if nec.and if you use gas the welding surface does'nt need be perfectly clean as it will stick to most surfaces with little or no cleaning
