Welfare, be it for farmers, corporations or the poor...why have it?

  1. I can see having an emergency fund for real emergencies, like losing your money and not being able to feed the kids that week, but I don't approve of welfare in general, it's an easy way to not work for a lot of people.

    Money for people who *can't* work is allocated differently. No one begrudges a learning disabled person who is incapable of working, being given enough money to live on, but I hate to see lazy fat couples with 10 kids claiming they can't work, and taking my money off me. It's just not fair, if I can get up and go to work, so can they. Too many people are sitting around claiming, when they should get up and go to work.

Because it keeps people, especially children off the streets, also prevents crimes of "necessity" and it creates lots of job opportunities for social workers, etc.  It also gives many people a second chance to become somebody and it makes dead beat dads pay for the children they neglected and stranded.
