what would all of you people on welfare do if all of a sudden there was no more welfare?

would you and your family die on the street?

would you actually go get a job?

would you go scrub off another hard working, contributing citizen?

  1. Well you would have social workers on the street as well.  You would have hungry babies, worried mothers, and deadbeat dads will be glad they don't have to pay another dime.

I am on welfare (didn't ask to be in this situation).  I am going to school for nursing with a 4.0 GPA.  Soon I will be getting my phlebotomy license to get off and finish school on my own.  Me and my baby wouldn't die in the streets.  I would have to drop out of school so I can finish my internship at the hospital and then I would have to re-enroll hopefully next semester by the time I should have gotten my license.  If I didn't have the Phlebotomy thing ready to go, I probably would just plain have to drop out of school and put my education on hold to get a dead end job that I will never get out of until my child is old enough for me to go back to school and work.

I feel sorry though for those with newborns or with a disabled or critically ill child that CANNOT work.  I dont think anyone should talk until they have been in another person's shoes.

Even when I get my phlebotomy job, it is only going to be part time and I will only be able to make a few hundred dollars more.  But just be a single mother (thats already 2 jobs in 1), then add FT work to that, then add school to that.  That is very difficult to handle and it is ridiculou to think that it should be done.  Ideally yes, but its not always possible.  In California, child support system is so crappy that sometimes it is the only way to get deadbeat fathers to pay for their children

  2. wouldn't effect me at all. I have two jobs though, Does that mean I forced someone into welfare?

  3. thats pretty fukd up..

  4. well, i respond to this question with the idiotic sarcasm that you ask it...

not ALL people on welfare are bums. how about the old people that dont get enough SS and they still have to pay for food and car insurance and medical and rent or mortgage, or their kids or toilet paper or.........

they cant live on what they have, so they get subsidary income, or food stamps...

how about these older people who have worked all their life, and have no pension? or retirement? how about all the older people who have made a path for hard working people like MYSELF?

you will always pay into it, so dont b-tch about it. Talk to GWB....he should give you a good answer....not as good as mine, but a good one....

    good luck....

  5. Hmmm, let me guess you never needed help before. WOW... u must be the one who was born with a silver spoon better yet your parents were born with money making you wealthy...

let me be the first to put you in your place... what comes around goes around. You maybe in a comfortable place in your life right now.. let me repeat that RIGHT NOW

before you make any judgement first say to your self what if I need welfare in my life one day...

By the way, I am fortunate to have had a great childhood, with both parents, who raised me to further my education after attending private school. I am now a Executive in a high profile company and married to an broker. I will always think what if???? you never know if I would ever need public assistants...

    yuk mouth!!

  6. I'd say they would probably pick number three.

  7. i say they would slit your throat

  8. i was on streets for 13 years, and picked up cans and bottles and made 300 dolalrs a week, punk!! who are you to judge? you caould not last a second on streets!

  9. they  would  kill  each  other  worst  than  they  do  already

  10. Actually I would have a little difficulty trying answer that as I haven't even ever drawn unemployment. I am going on 67 and retired and started work at 11, setting pins in a bowling alley for 10 cents a line.

I suppose I could ask why some lazy jackasses didn't start work till they were 12 hey?

I would imagine a lot of them would starve and die on the street just as I have seen in many country's when I was in the NAVY. It was sicking to see people huddled against a brick wall to try to keep from freezing to death in winter. I've seen hundreds living in VW crates and cardboard boxes to stay alive.

Isn't it wonderful to live in a country where they may not have to suffer that way?

And isn't it great to live in a country where you can ask such an idiotic question and not be in danger of reprisal?

Let's hope and pray you never have to find out the answer to one of your questions.

  11. oh ur refuring to mostly black people...they would comlpain about racism

  12. Most of the people on wlefare can't get jobs. I work in that industry and the majority of the people use it for what is intended for, They already work but the job only gives them few hours, they work at a job that do not offer paid maternity leave so they get welfare until they are physically able to return to work, some got laid off and need money until they find another job and some had a death or divorce of the spouse and needed it until they got on thier feet. The few that are lifetime welfare people that abuse the system would figure out a way to get by just like they figured out a way to work the system.

  13. woke more hours or get another job

  14. Welfare is a moral and physical necessity for a developed country such as America, but sure, people exploit it far too often.

My guess would be they'd hire some seedy, ambulance-chasing attorney and sue the government (aka The American People) for not providing care.

  15. Well , I hate to burst your bubble but did you know that people on welfare can't get it anymore if they are not engaging in an activity to get themselves off welfare, and is a must to even get that little pitance. They have a very short time to get it, and once that time expires they can't get anymore, ever! They have to be actively job searching and job skills programs, or job training. Once they obtain a job they take you off.

  16. I agree that the majority of people on welfare shouldn't be on it, and that we taxpayers are supporting lazy, dead beat people.  But there are a few who actually can't work, who actually need our help.  There should be stricter rules on who can and can't receive welfare, and how long people can stay on it.

  17. uhh get a job

but thats why we have parents..
