Welfare state vs. Intelegent Design ?

Complicated Question - Is their a corrolation between the comprehensiveness of a countries welfare state , and its acceptance that human beings evolved from other animals ?

I don't believe so.  A significant majority of educated people accept the theory of evolution as a truth which is supported by overwhelming scientific evidence.

The issue of establishing and maintaining a society which provides a minimum living standard for all of its occupants is a social issue which is embraced because of societal pressure and acceptance, rather than scientific pressures.

So, to me, the two subjects are so unrelated that any type of correlation is a long and unscientific reach.
