  1. my cat will be sleeping one minute then she'll open her eyes a little bit and see her tail wagging, and start chasing it! lol. I think some cats will do it a long time, some may stop after a while, or some will never do it.

  2. my cat is nearly a year old and she still chases her tail!

  3. my cat stopped at about 6 months but if she is bored will do it....i think its them saying... im bored!!!!! play with me or ill play with my own tail lol. its kinda cute though isn't it! they bite it then realizes it hurts so they l**k it to try and nurse it back to health lol!

  4. When it catches the tail, bites down, and it hurts.

  5. does your kitten have enough toys and cat furniture to play on or play with, enough stimulation in the house.  I have seen cats at the shelter I volunteer at chase their tail and even bite down on it and attack it because it is bored.

  6. My cat is 6 and he still does it.

  7. I've known cats, that when they hide, forget to hide their tail as well. So it'll be sticking out from under whatever they picked.

I'm starting to think some just aren't aware of it. lol

I'm sure they know it's their tail but when cats get exicitable they just go into "KILL IT!!!!" mode.
