Well Marked tipped to win Play The Tote Placepot Handicap (Div I)
Well Marked is expected to walk away with a victory in the Play The Tote Placepot Handicap (Div I) at Naas in Ireland on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. The triumphant horse will walk away with the prize money of €4,830.
A total of 16 contestants will battle out for victory in the 7 furlong race, which will start at 19:00 GMT.
Furthermore, the track conditions will be yielding, which will definitely favour, Well Marked, more than anyone else on the field.
The P. G. Fahey’s trainee has got some useful experience, as he has represented his owner in 18 races prior to the one at Naas.
His strike rate is on the lower side though, as he has managed to win just thrice. In addition to that, he has finished as a runner-up, and secured the third place finish twice in his career.
The five-year-old gelding started off his career with a solid second place finish. He went onto win a couple of races afterwards, and capped off the 2009 season on a high.
However, he was unable to carry the same momentum into the next season, and visibly had a hard time coping with new challenges.
Things did not go well for the Choisir’s son, out of mare Radiance, in 2010, as his performances became from bad to worse.
Despite that, his trainer kept on working hard with him, and did not lose hope. His efforts yielded good results.
The Irish gelding finished third in his most recent race, and that would have given a lot of hope to his fans at Naas. Although, it was a tame finish in the end, but did finish close to the runner-up of the race.
The favourite runner will be partnered by jockey, R. P. Whelan, who does not have a lot of experience, but seems to be in good form right now. He will be looking forward to a strong show at Naas today.
On the other hand, the bookies have rated, Pre Tax Profit, as the favourite to win, despite the fact that he has never managed to win in his career. He has entered five events, and the best he could do was a third place finish once.
