Well Read Man, the best choice for punters in O´Reilly Recruitment (Pro-Am) Flat Race at Punchestown
With so little to go on, Willie Mullins’ trainee, Well Read Man, seems to be the safest option for the punters in the O´Reilly Recruitment (Pro-Am) Flat Race, being held at Punchestown on Tuesday, May 08, 2012.
In search of a purse worth €6,210, more than a dozen runners will compete on a soft ground at Punchestown. According to the program the 2-mile 1-furlong event will be started at 19:50 GMT.
Among the confirmed entries are: Well Read Man, Mellifont Abbey, Our Native Land, Knockaderry, Count Brando, Some Tikket, Bell Metal, Monelissio, Burning Issues, Killshallago, My Lucky Flame, Owens Pride and Tudor Fashion.
Luck is on Willie Mullins’ side these days, as his trainees are earning him a lot of wins. The latest of his triumphs came on Monday, when Terminal banged his opponents in the Bet With The Tote Hurdle at Down Royal.
Well Read Man belongs to a great stable and therefore, his chances for the top prize cannot be overlooked. The five-year-old will be ridden by Mr P W Mullins, who has a wonderful track record under his belt.
P. Hughes’ trainee, Our Native Land, is likely to get the second highest starting price. Oscar’s son has a tough opposition to face, but it will be interesting to see how he utilises his skills today.
Mellifont Abbey is another to consider. Mrs John Harrington’s trainee will be ridden by Mr M Fahey, who is not in the best of his form these days.
The experienced jockey registered his last triumph in late April, when he guided Some Article to an emphatic win in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper INH Flat Race at this venue.
Count Brando’s chances are bright, as he is coming into this contest after grabbing a fine victory last month. K Donohue Horse Sales, F & K Donohue, Mhn Pntrs, Hlpn B Hire & Teddys Bar 5&6yo Geldings Mdn saw him beating the
2-1 favourite, Bendala Bleu, at Oldcastle.
Well Read Man, Presenting’s expensive son, is likely to dominate the proceedings. Since there are many dangerous novices in the line-up, it is going to be an entertaining clash.
