They are the Youngest Team in the NHL. http://nhlnumbers.com/compare.php?type=averageage&order=ASC

They have the most money to spend http://nhlscap.com/teamnumbers.htm

The Coyotes have 7 picks in the first 3 rounds of the 2008 Draft.

They also have Kyle Turris who might play in the NHL full time next year.

A nice snowstopper in goal, Ilya Bryzgalov, who is 27 years old.

Do you think that they will be an elite team in the next 4 years? Or even be an elite team (Starting in about 2-3 years) for even 10 years?

What do you think about the Coyotes Future?

  1. Well this is good news. Im glad your all so optimistic.

it looks like Im the only coytoes fan in MN. I hope i can stopped bein harrassed by my freinds for bein one.

  2. As a Coyotes fan, I would like to hope they have some bright future ahead of them.

But, I think they may need another year or two. This season(2008-2009) I think they will make some serious competition. Enough to make the playoffs? You never know. I'd like to hope so.

As for an elite team in the next 4 years? Elite might be the wrong word. I'd like to say they will be a serious contender in the next 4 years.

The Coyotes have some serious potential; with the likes of Bryzgalov in goal, Turris as the man of the future, and a young team, the team still lacks some things. Those things being: Legit defensemen and veterans.

Yes, they have defenseman, but nobody you could consider 'legit'. The only one that comes to mind is Jovanovski, but they need someone else. They have a good core of defense, but it's still missing something, if you know what I mean.

Veterans..okay, so they have Shane Doan. But when you think of it he is only 32; that can still be "kind of" young in some cases. They only really have Doan, Jovoanovski, Morris and Boynton. The rest of the guys have been with the team/NHL for a very short time. Some veteran presence might bring some leadership to the team, therefore helping the young guys get better and mature quicker while they are still young.

I think Pheonix has a good future ahead of them, but it will come in time. Not any time soon. Just my opinion.

  3. Very bright- they could be penguins- awful in their first year together as a team, make the playoffs the next, and go to the cup finals soon after. They could be very good very quickly.

    And I love the jerseys.

  4. I think they will be great in the next few years, dynasty in about 20-25 years which is very good.

  5. The team has a bright future, they will get a solid draft pick this year and I think that they will help their cause even further by picking up a couple of young defenders such as Campbell , Redden or Pitkanen (who rumors say will be traded). It would be AWESOME if they added Malkin to their roster in a couple of seasons when Pittsburgh can no longer afford him. Their goaltending is set for a while, I actually feel Bryzgalov is an equally skilled goalie as Giguere and might be the best goalie in Coyotes history soon.

  6. Well, i think its great they have turris, and all the young talent. I think they need a few years for that talen to full develop, but then i think they will be a great team

  7. Hey they could even become an elite team in as few as the next season!

They have a great team and a great future ahead of them.I think the only thing that's left to do is change the jersey around...I don't know if it's just me but I just don't like there logo and the jersey color is a little iffy.

  8. i think that their future looks good they can be a real good team heck maybe even a cup contender in about 5 years dont quote me on that though but remember what the Pens looked like b4 they had all those high 1st rd draft picks (Fluery. Crosby, Malkin, Staal) now look at the Pens almost cup winners
