  1. When you are full of " hwyl" and the crowd is all behind you it must be quite easy to ignore dignitaries, even Prince William.

  2. news flash, not everyone likes the sponging royal family

  3. You only shake hands with Royalty when they offer you their hand. So  did he offer his hand to every player or was he caught out, as were the French by the speed of the Welsh players??

so wara teg be fair on both. The players and the next prince of Wales!!!

  4. the english team will teach the taffys all the manners they need next year...............

    steady.. now just kidding

    WELL DONE from an englander

  5. Welshchicks Bang on !!!!!!!

He's English !!! Its a F@~@~n Joke he took the post and an Insult  to the Welsh Rugby Team !!!

He wants to think himself lucky Ryan Jones didn't drop him !!

  6. At least the Welsh players don't go swearing on TV .

Cipriani needs to learn some manners .

    i wouldn't shake William's hand either , twll din pob sais !

  7. I doubt they knew they were ignoring Prince William , They were so emotional that they had the Grand Slam they were oblivious to lots of people ,

I cant say i noticed them ignoring him .

Anyway im so proud of them they really deserved it

  8. Shame on them.

  9. How do you know that they deliberately ignored him, the excitement of winning the Grand Slam may have overtaken them, they had just played their hearts out  to win so they can be forgiven for not being exactly politically correct even though I did not notice them ignoring him.

  10. Prince william is really cute...too bad he's taken.....oh the coach should teach them manners

  11. We don't need to be taught manners!!!!!!!!! The players didn't deliberatelty ignore his hand!!!!!! We just won the Grand Slam for god sake give us a bit of credit!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YOU are obviously not Welsh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  12. We demand Independence from the English. 500 years of English repression - no the wonder he was ignored. I would ignore him as well, exactly the same as I would ignore Gorgon "the Scottish moron" Brown and Tony "the laughing hyena" Blair. Anyone want to join the revolution. :)

Is it really rude or bad manners to refuse to shake someones hand if it's offered. I don't think so, it depends on whose hand it is - what about Saddam Hussain for instance.

  13. Tend to agree with Welsh Chick. Found it strange him being there to be honest.

  14. why was he even there?!!?!? they should have chosen someone a bit more representitive of wales!!!

Come on now, the boys had just won probably what is the biggest thing in thier lives, i doubt any of them did it deliberatly.

trust someone to try and put a damper on thier victory!!!

  15. We never asked for him or his father to be Prince of Wales...remember the protests in 1969?...No, you probably don't....had it been Bryn Terfel or Max Boyce....they would have been proud to shake his hand.(The prat was probably wearing an English shirt anyhow.)

  16. I don't see why the Welsh players should shake his hand. He was only there for publicity. He is Prince William of Wales, yet he's been at the English matches all through the tournament!!!!

  17. Just saw it again...the Prince didn't want to shake their hands, he was at the end of the line - three down from after the boys recieved their medals..and he looked like he just wanted to stand back and applaud. No wonder some of the players (2) completely missed him. If he was further up the line or even gave out the medals...it wouldn't have happenned.

    You owe us a appology.

  18. What relevance is an English prince of Greek/German descent to do with Welsh Rugby?

  19. Yes because he is not our Prince neither is Prince Charles we are welsh we want nothing to do with the English or their poxy monarchy why should they. Well done to them although i didnt pick it up anyway.

  20. Hmm well I'm Welsh and I think that was really bad manners too.  They should keep their political views out of it.  Its very rude to refuse someone's hand whatever the situation.  Whether he is personally an English supporter or not does not matter, he was there in official capacity to congratulate them and they should have been polite about it.  I'm disappointed in those that ignored him, as I agree its rude.

EDIT: I'm not saying I'm not proud of the team and I'm really pleased they won.  I didn't see any of them refusing Prince William's hand tbh so I can't say if they did it deliberately or, as some others have said, because they were excited and not concentrating, but I'd really like to think they didn't do it deliberately, because that just wouldn't be right.  Whoever Prince William supports in private would be a separate issue when he's acting in an official capacity.  You can still congratulate and accept congratulations like good sports.

  21. so glad Wales won :) we did it again in 4 years twice!!!!!!!!!!

  22. You have a point, but He is an ENGLISH rugby supporter and many of us here in Wales think it is madness he was offered the role and even more of a joke when he accepted it........he has been seen in the Millennium Stadium wearing a English Rugby shirt before now.........so where the feck are his manners and common sense??????????

  23. to not shake wills hand is a personal choice but the welsh are right he is english and belongs wearing england colours i would never wear another countrys colours for any reason.....wales we,re coming to get you ,....well next year .well done

  24. Totally agree with Welsh Chick, being a welsh lady myself.  He's English not welsh, it would have been more appropriate for someone who is welsh and actually cares that Wales won to give the trophy to our lads.  Someone who is respected and admired not Prince William who is English, where's the sense in that.  Bless him!

  25. I am English but had I been welsh I too would have ignored. Who in their right mind gave him the role as president of the Welsh rugby union??? That should go to a welsh person. William is English and not Welsh. His father is Prince of Wales yet he is also English. The royal family's ancestors murdered the last King or Prince of Wales and his children to wipe out the line of royal ancestry. Then they assumed control of Wales. Now the monarch's eldest son becomes the Prince of Wales by default and wrongly do for they are English. It is probable that some of the players were caught up in the excitement of the occassion and forgot, others may have thought like me as an Englishman he should not have the position and refused to shake his hand. I must say I am English but live in Scotland and I was appaled to see him at the game as he is certainly not English and neither is he French. Don't forget Wales is a small country with its own identity but Mr Brown wants them to be British and not Welsh whereasI am sure they want to be Welsh and not British.

  26. The magnificent Welsh rugby team do not need anyone to teach them any manners thank you very much. Everyone in Wales knows that Prince William is an England supporter and should never have been given the role of vice-patron of the WRU in the first place!! I belive that most of the lads were so caught up in the euphoria of the moment that to shake anybody's hand was the last thing on their minds, they just wanted to celebrate a magnificent Welsh triumph and another Grand Slam. Llongyfarchiadau bechgyn!!

  27. Have to agree

    bad manners no excuses whatsoever.

Funny how two opposing teams can shake hands and pat each other on the back after a game no matter what team they play against but the welsh did not have the decency to shake prince williams hand.

The slam was won fair and square but this cast a shadow over the whole ceremony

another point to make is,the welsh dont want anything to do with the english then why have you got shaun edwards in your squad? double standards or what.

Some ppl from wales are so short sighted when they choose to be.

    WRU

looks like you are on your own then hahaha

see how far you`d get without the money that comes from the english. You`d have nothing to trade so best be nice to us because maybe us english would be better off without proping your country up.

  28. Why should they shake his hand when he's usually pictured wearing an England shirt sat with his delinquent friends in Twickenham!!!!!!!!

  29. What a waste of a ticket

  30. Considering Prince William is Vice Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union he should be supporting Wales but recently, the prince stayed away from Wales' match against Scotland and attended an England match in Twickenham instead.  One of the things about Wales that people do not understand is that we are extremely loyal and patriotic.  To be perfectly honest they were probably too excited to be even thinking about hand shaking anyone and just wanted to get out and celebrate

Well done boys you well and truly deserved it :-)

  31. Rude gits eh
