Well with the news of Honda bean Dq'd from the Daytona 200, it means Chaz Davis is the first British rider to win.

Hailwood : NO

Fogarty : NO

Davis: YES !!!

Roll on James Tosland in MotoGP and Bradley Smith in 125 today.

However ...................... with " Big Red " having the clout they do in the U.S, will this appeal just be granted with the threat of Honda pulling out of the US racing market, or will the AMA stick to there guns ?

Im sure Chaz would not want to win the race because of a tech rule, but, winning is winning.

Your thoughts please.

  1. Hi Wiggysan. I still haven't seen the race yet. too busy today.

but its great news for Chaz, like you i am sure he would have rather won on the track. I will be back here later with more of an opinion after seeing the race.

After seeing the race. he definitely rode well. the pit stop was a bit of crossed wires. I felt sorry for the Hodge. 2nd with 4 to go. big blow out of the engine. real shame. its a strange race to watch. seeing the power differences with the bikes, its a wonder there arent a lot more accidents. eg Hodge overcooking the shicane  passing a slower guy.  I liked the racing though.  Chaz has his work cut out for the season though. Duhamel rode well too.

I take it the superbikes start next time, which is why no spies and meladin.

  2. I watched the race on Speed, it was as always daytona at its worst......bad pit stops, crashes and now Erion Honda DQ'd. Well done to Chaz but remember he did pit too soon and messed up his team mate, But as you say a win is a win,
