Well here we go, anyone got any good constipation remedies?

No time wasters please, I have suffered all my life and it can cause depression, lethargy , feeling sick , shall I go on. To top it all just had op and meds make it worse, but before this always exercised been going to same gym 20 years , still i suffered , eat fibre fruit veg etc. Its making me feel worse at mo, I am open to suggestions maybe something that works for someone else?

  1. Well i take prune juice...its yucky tasting but it works for me...jus make sure u get the one without pulp...medication makes me feel worst..as for fruits and veggie only one that really works for me is Banana. Also i started working out and drinking lot of water and that seems to help too.

    But the real helper for me was the prune juice...:)

  2. excellent bowel movements using this regimen..

    of course you need fiber, water, exercise and to work on anxiety..

    plus a few supplements that will make "going" easier and healthy.

    To jump straight into a "high fiber diet" could make things worse

    so just incorporate it into your daily routine within reason and patience..

    People with constipation often have a magnesium deficiency

    so dark green leafy vegetables are a great source(or supplement) ..

    look into an excellent fish oil soft gel and definitely get some

    ground flax seeds into the breakfast cereal or shake.

    Your best friends are intestinal friendly bacteria... (same stuff found in good yogurt) skip the mucus forming yogurt

    (slows down bowel movement)

    and get yourself a pro-biotic from a health food store..

    (with lactobacillus acidophilus/reuteri/rhamnosus and bifidus.

    to soften the stool,breakdown infection, and create an improved environment.

    AVOID all fried foods, refined flours, sugars,saturated fats,dairy, caffeine and alcohol

    they all produce exess mucus in your GIT (gastro intestional track)

    and just messes it all up..

    work on your perspective on life and dont let stress get the best of you.. STRESS (work,medication,worries are all stresses on your body)

    try working out less but intense and get yourself regular massage appointments... and tell your massuse that you have difficulty going

    to the bathroom...he/she will be able to help you! its their job!

    as a last resort.. if the pain is bad... get an herb called

    Cascara sagrada

    take three times a day till relief...

    Please DON'T take for a long term... it just gets you dependent on it and just makes things worse... get it in a tincture(liquid drops)

    dont abuse it....

    Look into psyllium husks for non-nutritional bulk fiber

    also try for quick relief...

    large glass of water every ten minutes for a half hour.

    sometimes it works...(most times)

    eat smaller portions,

    eat figs and prunes

    eat everything that you didnt want to eat as a kid

    try to set a rythmic routine of going to the bathroom to retrain your body and strengthen your muscles! same times everyday..

    For a healthy fella'

    three times a day is betta' !!
