I know pretty much nothing about speakers, but i have looked around a little... i am trying to get a single 10'' sub with a 400watt amp. Here's what ive found so far. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?t=2&products_id=106

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4873

Will this work and sound decent? if not could i please get some suggestions on something better... keep in mind i dont have too much cash to work with. Thanks

  1. For your application you don't really need the shallow mount sub. It really won't perform the way you want it to. Look for a standard depth sub.

For a sub amp I would go with a mono amp as well.

The two that you have chosen would potentially work together. But, You could get a lot better for your money.

    try these.

This combo Will give you better "bang for your buck"

If you wire the coils in parallel you will have a 2 ohm final load.

  2. A 10" sub will give you a crisp sound, a 12" will give  real deep bass.  Don' t get a profile amp its junk and that sub is for a small enclosure and won't perform. JL Audio subs are by far the best on the market! If you are on a strict budget look on craigslist for something used.  You could get 2-12's in an enclosure for that price.

  3. well i deffinitly agree with jmann. that kicker setup will sound much better. i used to have a 96 accord your trunk is big and you deffinily dont need a shallow mount sub. i had 2 12'' L5's in that trunk. but yeah listen to jmann
