  1. Panzerco's answer contains a couple of good suggestions.  First, watch your spelling.  NExt, his number 3 contains a good idea for your answer.  THink of the concerns of a holocaust survivor and what they might want to talk wiht the United Nations about.  One very likely subject would be an ongoing holocaust in another country.  A holocaust survivor would undoubtedly suggest that the world, and particularly the U.N., must try to intervene to prevent the continued extermination of a group of people.

Another topic of interest for a holocaust survivor to write about to the U.N. might be Israel.  Although other groups were also victimized in the holocaust (Hitler tried to kill g*y people, mentally ill people, etc., too), the primary victims were obviously Jewish, and many, many non-Jews across Europe willingly allowed their Jewish neighbors to be rounded up and carted off to concentration camps.  Understandably, Jews felt they needed a separate and safe place to live and, for better and for worse, Israel came about.  The U.N now tends to be rather anti-Israel in its proclamations, and a holocaust survivor might also write a letter to the U.N. asking for greater support and understanding.

  2. You have just been given very good points on what to consider.  I can only add the following information that may also be of assistance in your interesting venture:

Author:  Douglas V. Porpora is chair of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology at Drexel University. He is an active member of NETWORK, a national social justice lobby, and is the author of 4 books which include: The Concept of Social Structure (1987), How Holocausts Happen: The United States in Central America (1990), Landscapes of the Soul: The Loss of Moral Meaning in American Life (2001) and Transcendence: Critical Realism and God (2004).

How "Holocausts Happen" focuses on the citizenry served or ruled by genocidal governments rather than on the governments themselves. Douglas V. Porpora argues that moral indifference and lack of interest in critical reflection are key factors that enable Holocaust-like events to happen. He characterizes American society as being typically indifferent to the fate of other people, uninformed, and anti-intellectual. Douglas V. Porpora cites numerous horrifying examples of U.S.-backed Latin American government actions against their own peasants, Indians, and dissident factions. He offers finally a theory of public moral indifference and argues that although such indifference is socially created by government, the media, churches, and other institutions, we, the public, must ultimately take responsibility for it. How "Holocausts Happen" is at once a scholarly examination of the nature of genocide and a stinging indictment of American society.

Check with our local library if they have the book,,, or Google it.   Good luck.

  3. The UN was established after Hitler's Holocaust. If you write a letter to the UN on behalf of a Holocaust survivor, tell the UN to stop the Iranian Nuclear Holocaust and respect Israel's right to exist. The Arabs have plenty of land and they should not demand territories from tiny Israel!

  4. First I would concentrate on your spelling.

Then I would ask your teacher which holocaust that we have ignored since the inception of the UN is he/she talking about.

Third I would ask the UN why we never seem to care about African holocausts.

  5. What will the UN do to prevent another Holocaust or ethnic cleansing?

  6. If you go to the link you can see the pictures and read the true stories of actual Holocaust survivors. It might give you some good ideas. You might even be able to just cut and paste into your post card.  Good luck.

  7. You have been offered great suggestions starting from Panzerco.. then others. Also ONE MORE thing to point out; the twist of irony of today's world!  Jews of Europe were victimized and then came the holocaust.. Jews in Israel now are committing another form of genocide/holocaust against the native Palestinians.
