Well my snake is taking awhile to shed and hes getting pretty skinny. i was wondering if i could feed him. and i was told to put him in warm water... but it got cold real fast as well as the damp towel i tried using. i just really want to know if i could feed him if his shed hasnt come off still

  1. you can but he will either wont eat it or will throw it up just wait till hes done

If your snake is having a bad shed take a plastic box (either a plastic shoe box or plastic sweater box) and drill several small holes along the sides at the top.  Put about an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only an inch or so of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.  

    You might try feeding your snake if you want I have snakes that have no problem eating while they are in shed and others who have no interest in eating during shedding time…it depends on your snake.

  3. If his eyes aren't clouded he should except the food. if the water is getting cold to fast then make it a little warmer just not really hot and definitely not cold.
