With Enzo Calzaghe watching a fighter that he trained get destroyed by Pavlik,I doubt he will send his son to the slaughter house. But thats exactly what he has to do. No one wants to watch Joe fight bums,who were always bums to begin with.

Pavlik rules his division much like The klitschko's rule the heavy weight division. Imagine Klitschko (either brother) clocking Ali in his prime like Calvin Brock got clocked. Boom Boom Out goes the over rated Ali's lights.

Calzaghe will most likely fight Jones, thats the money fight.  And I would still take Calzaghe over Jones.  Sorry people, but Jones beating Trinidad (who was only good at 154) and hadn't fought in years wasn't much of a surprise.  Besides that, Jones hasn't had an impressive victory in years and has been KO'd twice.

As far as Calzaghe and Pavlik, the key would the weight.  At 174, Calzaghe wins, at 168, then you can see Pavlik.

If Calz fights Jones, we'll never see him fight Kelly Pavlik.  Looks like Calz is going to go the Marciano route by fighting aging, former greats and retiring before taking on a real challenge.

Pavik is a good fighter but that's all he is and as for Ali being over rated please real world time.  Jones is still light years a head of Calzaghe.  Those Russian guys the best of them every time he loses he takes a hiatus because he's injured. Yeah a real outstanding champion.  Overrated and over there.

Elmer hit the nail on the head... Pavlik would destroy Calz tomorrow, and 6 months to a year from now would make the drubbing even worse...

JC won't risk it... He'll fight jones, in what will be a painful fight to watch, then fight one or two more over-the-hill has beens before he pats himself on the back and retires.
