  1. Probably:

    blood pressure check.

    Urine test for sugar level.

    Weight (body mass index)

    Pulse

    Discussion about alcohol intake

    Discussion about smoking

    etc.

  2. Here's what I found on the web:

Well man clinics are specialised health care clinics for men. They are often run by GPs that offer men health check-ups, which usually involve having a blood and urine test. They also allow men to get help and information regarding male health matters.

Well man clinics are intended to:

check your existing health - screening for any treatable conditions, and

offer you advice and guidance about reducing your risk to future conditions.

Instead of replacing your GP, well man clinics act as centres where men can have a health MOT. If you are middle aged (40-60 years of age) you should consider having a health check up to assess your overall health and fitness. As with an MOT on a car, these well man clinics are useful at detecting problems with your current health, but also may indicate future complications.

Most well man clinics offer a selection of tests, ranging from a height and weight check, to analysing your urine for diabetes and kidney infections. Other tests include checking your:

    cholesterol levels and blood pressure,

    hearing and vision,

    muscle strength and joint flexibility,

lung functions - if you are a heavy smoker an X-ray might be carried out,

heart - checking for any abnormalities using an electrocardiogram (ECG),

blood - to check for prostate disease. This is usually only offered if you have a family history of prostate disease or are over the age of 45.

Your GP may also ask you a series of questions to gain further insight into your current health and medical history.

Lifestyle assessment - looking at aspects of your daily life, such as your diet, how much alcohol you drink, what exercise you do, and whether you smoke?

Medical history - information regarding your parents and other family member's health, to help indicate any possible future health issues.

Where can I find a well man clinic?Check with your GP surgery to see if they run a well man clinic, or have well man appointments available. Some local hospitals run well man clinics, for which you don't need a referral from your GP. An appointment at a hospital run clinic may not always be necessary. Call your GP surgery for further information.

There are also private health organisations that run well man clinics, carrying out extensive health checks for men for a fee. You can find details of these in your local phone book.
