  1. all i can say is time.  just greive at ur own pace.  pets r as close to us as any member of the family.  i'm so sry for ur loss.  if it helps, find a way to honor ur dog.  pic of him when he was happy and healthly, his collar and a fav toy in a basket in a speical  place.  just to remember all of the good times.  when ur ready, open up to a new pup that needs love.  take a rescued pup and carry one ur old dog memory by loving this one just as much.  try a new breed.  it's not a replacement, just another way of honoring ur best friend

  2. I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved friend. I wish I had an easy answer for you but there is none.  You will continue to go thru your pain for quite awhile yet.  The pain of losing a beloved pet is no different than losing a beloved family member. When I lost one of my dogs 5 years ago, I didn't think the pain would ever go away. I couldn't get him off my mind and every time I saw a dog that looked like him, it made the pain that much worse. It took me about 6 months to finally come to terms that he was gone. It will take about 6 months for your agony to lessen, but the pain will never really go away but in time, it won't hurt as much as it does now.  Right now the loss and pain are just too fresh in your mind and in your heart. God bless you and help you get thru your pain.

  3. I'm really sorry to hear about your dog....I hope that she did not suffer.  Of course you are going to feel this way, so don't beat yourself up over it.  She was part of your family, your friend.    I have lost a few pets over the years and so I know what you are going through.  You just need to know that you did everything right, and you gave her a good life while she was with you.  Also she is at peace now, so if she was ill, its all over now.  I have lost 3 cats and 1 dog in 21 years.  One cat to a tumor, and two cats to road accidents.  My dog was 18 when he died, and I was ok, because I knew that he had had enough.  I was in bits for days about my 2 year old cat who was hit on a motorway, I think it affected me because he was so young, but also because I lifted him up and took him home and buried him in my garden.  I cried for about 4 days, every time I thought about him, but it did ease off, and now I just remember the fun times and quirky things that he used to do.  You will feel ok in a while, but if you did not feel the way that you do, then you would not have a conscience, nor be an animal lover.

I really hope you feel better soon.

  5. I am sorry for your loss.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

    "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.

I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair

I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled; I think you knew...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning

And say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.

  6. Get another one.

  7. Very hard to face.  I think the best thing to do is to get another puppy as soon as possible. You will always miss your old dog, but the new energized puppy will keep you busy and new memories will be created the day you pick the puppy up.

    Sorry for your loss.

  8. I'm sorry for your loss we've all been there and all you can do is remember all the good times you had with her.

    Sorry
