maybe in 3rd world countries. That's completely unsanitary considering how many diseases they carry. Why do you think people dont want roaches in their houses? Your teacher is wrong to a point, it's still not something to tell kids, teens, or adults depending on what school level you're at, But to answer your question of whether or not it's true. Yes, in some countries it's true.
