  1. Romans are easy-going, always ready for having fun and to enjoy. They eat a lot, drink coffee at least 4 times a day.

If they see a girl they like in a disco, they will not hesitate to speak to her. Sometimes they can even be too much pushy.

They always hug and kiss when meeting friends and saying goodbye. They are very loud and smile a lot.

They often have a cell phone in their hands speaking, taking photos or writting sms.

They love wine - they even have a song in which is said ''l'aqua fa male, il vino fa canta' '' (water makes you bad, wine makes you sing'').

They will find solutions to any problem without caring what others think. In general, they don't care at all what do other people think about themselves :)

They are terrible drivers. They often don't respect the red lights and other rules in traffic. I get really scared while driving there.

In general, very nice people for bonding and good friends.

And I love the way they treat people they love. Guys are so protective with their girlfriends.

I am speaking from personal experience. My boyfriend is Roman and I have a lot of Roman friends (and I am not Italian)  :)

  2. Roam?

  3. Watching the new series now on bbb2.

  4. When in Rome.... don't act as if you were in your own country. You are guest and so behave as one. Act as the Romans do...

  5. Drive furiously and drink a lot of coffee.

  6. We enjoy life! We try to live it to it's fullest. We laugh a lot. Like other poster said, we drive like crazy! We talk a lot as well....if you want to know about Italy, ask Italian! We are very proud of our country and (most of us) would love to tell you about it....

    Have lots fun!

Beware of pick pockets and gypsies though...

  7. Hey man Rome is in Italy and Europe what do you think they do in N.Y. or in Paris or London ?

Sure Italians and Romans are more and more friendly, and even if you speak another language they don't ignore you like in France or Germany or U.K.... sure.

  8. The men are extremely polite and will offer to carry your luggage for you :) I had two different men carry mine in the same day. And they won't take no for an answer! I'm lucky they didn't try to steal it, ha.

  9. Drink espresso.

    Smoke.

    Ride scooters.

    Talk on their cell phones.

Shout at each other a lot.

(the really talented ones can do all the above at the same time)

I lived in Rome for 5 years. The Romans are friendly people. Do be careful about being ripped off id cafes and restaurants though and watch out for pick pockets.

  10. eat cake and pizza

  11. I'm Italian and I live in Milan, but I can tell you that whenever I can, I go to Rome, because I think it's the most wonderful city in the world. Romans are really kind and sweet, they can make you feel the most beautiful woman if only you are nice and smiling. If you have a sad expression, be sure that somebody will ask you "waht's up?" trying to make you smile.

Of course you have also to be careful like in any other big city full of tourists... Have a nice staying, ciao ciao

  12. Yes, What did the Romans ever do for us?

  13. I'M ROMAN, so maybe i can help you.

the city centre is chaotic, there is a lot of traffic, and buy a good guide because it's not easy to find written information or indication walking in the city.

Roman people is kind, helpful and will help you even if many can't speek english very well, doing their best to make you understand.

I think we speak loud a little bit, and move our body and our hands a lot, so don't be scared of that!!!

taxis are quite expensive so pay attention to them.

pay attention to scooters and when you cross the road... we don't stop soooo quickly like english do!

say "roma" and "totti" and the city will love you!!!

    good luck

    Arrivederci!

  14. I dont like people who wants to travel only to start to criticise the place they are going to visit...if these are yours worries why you just dont choose another place to visit? the world is so big and i am sure in roma they wont mind you dont go there anymore....

  15. In June? Go to seaside in Ostia Lido part of Rome.

  16. There aren't really 'Romans' as such; I mean sure they are Roman in that they come from Rome, but generally speaking they are Italians.

They often try to sell you stuff, and if you're not careful your stuff might be nicked, so be alert! But there is a lot of fashion in Rome so I expect you will be able to buy some nice clothes --but they will bemost likely be expensive.

  17. Drink a lot of coffee and pasta and I will loose some weight next time I visit italy as there arent many fatties walking around as I felt like an outsider. But overall I love italy and would also be proud of a country thats helped some cities as it is today. Rome wasnt build in a day but it was done in the rightful roman way. I love Italy and the italians are very eager to help you. Beautiful country and would recommend anyone to go.

  18. I live in Italy and I can tell you that they live a slower life except when it comes to driving. Don't  walk in front of a car because they don't have to stop for people crossing the street. Dinner are slower they can two or three hours and they dont' bug you if you need something else you have to ask for it they don't bug you and ask you if they can get you anything else. They drink strong coffee and don't wear shorts and gym shoes offen.

  19. The aqueduct? yeah, and the sanitation, do you remember how the city used to be like....and the roads, irrigation, education and the wine (that's something we really dislike if the roman left) public order and health...etc...apart from the acqueduct, sanitation, roads, irrigation and wine, WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS EVER DONE FOR US?

Can someone tell me something else?Thank you very much

Hi, and I'm Italain too..personally I don't think you wanted to criticise Rome or the Romans..(or at least I hope)..When I read your question, it immediately comes into my mind the fantastic and funny gag taken from Life of Brian...One of my favourite movies...
