We’ll think about Aussies after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 series, says Steve Finn – Cricket News Update
The promising England fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harold-William-Stephenson-c61707 Finn, who has recently established himself in the 50-overs side, has said that the Poms are looking no further ahead than Friday’s One Day International match against West Indies, at Headingley, in Leeds.
“…we're looking forward to today's game and then we'll think about the Aussies next week,” said the lanky right-arm medium pacer while speaking to the media reporters on the eve of the third and final ODI against Windies.
The 23-year-old Hertfordshire-born speedster however, said that the whole team was excited about the upcoming mouth-watering ODI-series against Ashes rivals, Australia.
"The (Australia) series is going to be a great opportunity for us to see where we are because they are the number one one-day side in the world," said Finn, who has played a key role in helping England win all six ODIs they have played so far this year (15
wickets at 14.07).
"Everyone is excited about the Australia series - but the squad hasn't even been picked," he added further.
The Alastair Cook-led one-day squad of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 is currently playing West Indies in a three-match series, which the hosts have already sealed in their name with victories at The Oval and Southampton.
The Poms will next host traditional rivals, and the world number one ranked ODI side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, something that excites
the gangling Hertfordshire seamer.
Finn however guarded against complacency and has vowed to play to their potential and get a psychological edge over the Aussies ahead of next year’s home Ashes series.
"They are missing a couple of guys like (Mike) Hussey and (Ricky) Ponting but it's important that we try to assert ourselves on that series,” said the lanky pacer, who will, in all probability, share new ball with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 against Windies, in the absence
of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711.
"It will give us a great chance to get one up over them before the Ashes series next summer,” he added further.
Before the ODI series against Kangaroos, the Poms are also scheduled to play a one-off T20 International against Windies, which gets underway at Nottingham on Sunday, June 24.
