  1. If you have a pressure tank could be that the bladder in the tank is broken or deflated.  Usually there is a air chuck on the side of the tank to check and see if you have air or water in this bladder.  If you have water then it will cause the pump to short cycle (on and off all the time) and you will probably have to replace the tank or if it has a replaceable bladder you will have to replace it.

  2. The pressure switch should come on around 40psi and go off at about 60pis.  You should be able to see this on the gage.

If this is correct, then the expansion tank has no air, and that could be because the bladder is bad.

Sorry time for dinner, hope that was enough.

  3. Your bladder tank is water logged.

  4. Your pressure tank is water logged or the bladder is ruptured.  Tap  on the tank, if it feels full or if there is a condensation line high on the tank there is too much water and too little air in the tank.  Turn your pump off and drain down the pressure to zero.  Inflate the tank to what the tag states at the schrader valve (the fitting where you put air).  If you press on the tip of the schrader valve and water comes out, the tank is defective as I think it is.

  5. if i were you ,before going through the expense of an air tank ,reminding you of the fact that if you refill it with air ,that the air has leaked from some wear ,you are waisting your time . i would take the cap off of the gray ,or blue ,pressure switch ,look at it and you will see two adjustment nuts. DO NOT TURN THE LARGER of the two,yet crank the smaller one clockwise while the water is running until the pump runs normal ,then spray with WD40..
