I heard the Olympics surface is pretty similar to that of the US Open and he beat Novak on it !!!!!!! Yay :) And to me right now, Djokovic is probably the best player on hard at the moment, i really fancy Novak`s chances against Roger assuming they meet in semis. Nadal has improved sooo much on hard its astonishing thats what i love about him, he`s constantly improving and always looking to improve :P Im sure we still havent seen Nadal at his best on hard, which is scary cause he can still beat the best hardcourt players.....!!! Rafa for the Gold and US Open :P !!!

  1. OMG he played so amazing today !!!!!! (except for the second set lol).  Novak is the best on hardcourt just now and the only one who can challenge Rafa, I think :)!  For Rafa to beat him today showed that he is in prime position to win the US.  Rafa is gonna win the US Open and gold at the Olympics !! :-D Yayyyy and he will be world #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for all the exclamation marks, I'm just sooooooooooo excited Rafa won hehe !!! :) :) :)

  2. Some great thoughts, SexyRafa, I completely agree with you. First off, keep in mind that although the Olympics does use the same surface as the US Open, the humid conditions in Beijing slowed the ball down a bit, so at the US Open the court will be even faster. I don't know if that's good or bad for Rafa, but it does seem to favor guys like Djokovic and maybe even Fed. About your thought on Nadal continuously improving; he's probably going to take a look back at this match and see what he did wrong in the second set, which is not good news for everyone else who will try to see if they can find a "blueprint" to beat Nadal. Nadal should take note that the body serve really bailed him out and he should start using that a lot more against great returners like Djokovic.

As for Rafa's chances, there's no doubt he's now the favorite, given that he just fought off the best hard court player. Something to keep in mind: just because Rafa is number one doesn't mean he won't face Djokovic on his side of the draw. It is just kind of confusing now because before no one in their right mind would like to see Federer close to them in the draw, but now that Federer is struggling a lot, Nadal and Novak might actually prefer to face him rather than each other.

  3. Actually it is the exact same surface.  China purposely did that because of the Olymics just before the US Open.

Rafa will be in the final.  His draw will change for the first time in what 3-1/2 years.

He'll for sure be in the finals!!!  I'd put money on it.

  4. Nadal will win the US Open over Novak that is if Novak is in Federer's draw. I know that as a Federer fan, he will not win the US Open. Not even Andy. Let him say **** since he says he'll win it this time. Hahaha

  5. Rafa just played amazing today. Did you see match point? He played beautiful defense to make Novak cause the error. I am really impressed with Rafa. He can win the U.S. Open. He has proven he can dominate on many surfaces. Everyone can stop saying he is JUST good on clay. His game has improved so much in the past year. He will be #1 on Monday! Congrats to Nadal

  6. Aye, aye. All the way !!  Novak can be a hindrance. FedEx ? No !

Nadal's games are never boring. He brings out the best and the worst of his opponents, pushing for excellence in himself.
