I drink at least a half bottle of vodka or a six pack or more a day. Is that going to interact with the Wellbutrin? If so in what way. Thanks in advance.

  1. well if you drink that much per day then maybe you are an alcoholic and need to get help.  And it will definitely interact... it will make you more depressed.... get some help and be happy.

  2. What's the point of taking the Wellbutrin when you continue to self medicate. Taking an anti depressant then counter acting it with a known depressant is pointless. Yes it will interact with the Wellbutrin, I'm not sure how but I was told to never mix psych meds and alcohol. If you want to get better stop the drinking.

  3. yes it will interact. it won't work. the alcohol counter-acts the wellbutrin. i used to drink a lot and i was put on that and it did nothing. i just got worse. i stopped drinking and i don't even need medicine anymore because getting the help i needed really helped me. its been about 13 months and i still go to therapy every other week and do some other things, but getting to the core of my issues has really helped me out a lot. instead of just medicating myself, i'm learning about myself and i'm finding ways to fix a lot of my problems.

that's what has worked for me. but the medicine will not work as long as you are drinking daily. i think it might even say that on the bottle or the print out that you get with your prescription. i know my doctor asked me how much i drank daily when i got it and i had to lie so i could get medicine.

    good luck.

  4. Well all the meds like that say not to drink alcohol while on them, and I think the amount you drink is definitely a little too much!! I don't know for sure what the effect would be but I'm guessing it might just counteract the effect of the Wellbutrin, as alcohol is a depressant. It would probably just kinda' wreak havoc with your emotions. Ask the dr. that prescribed it for you though, it varies from person to person.

  5. Two words for you "youwouldliketoknow,"  Bad Choice.
