Question:

Wellbutrin-SR question?

I was instructed by my doctor to increase my medication to 300mg of wellbutrin-sr. She told me to take one in the morning and one around 5 or 6:00. I have been forgetting in the evening so I was wondering if I could just take two in the morning? My doctor is out of town and I don't have a way of getting in touch with her. Also, do all anti-depressants work for OCD or only ones FDA approved?

Thanks!

  1. No you can't take 2 at once in the morning. The SR is released over about a 12 hour period, so you will not get the effect of the drug throughout the whole day. I would suggest you ask your doctor for Wellbutrin XL 300mg-this is designed to be slowly released over the whole day so you will get the effect throughout the day. Stick with the FDA approved drugs for OCD. While others may work its not worth the risk until there is conclusive evidence of their effectiveness.
