Wellingrove well drawn in Eventmasters.co.uk Nursery at Kempton
Mark Johnston’s 2-year-old, Wellingrove, showed plenty of improvement on his previous two starts and, although back in trip, is well drawn in the Eventmasters.co.uk Nursery, set to take place at Kempton on Friday, September 07, 2012.
The novice was terrible at Sandown, where he finished 11th in the BCL Burton Copeland / British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes in July. It was certainly a confidence-staking loss, but Wellingrove did well on the next
occasion.
The spectators at Wolverhampton saw him sharing the podium in the Book Tickets Online At wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk Nursery in mid August. It was an unlucky loss for Johnston’s trainee, as he missed the second place by a head’s distance.
Owned by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the bay colt continued his good work to ensure the second place in Epsom’s JRA Nursery at the end of last month. After a couple of improved efforts, Wellingrove’s confidence would be at a high.
Hence, one can easily expect him to show more improvement, and finally get off the mark today. He is due to face 11 rivals in the 6-furlong event. A cash prize of £2,264 is reserved for the winner of the class 5 meeting. According to the plan, the race will
be initiated at 19:50 GMT.
Meet Me Halfway is another dangerous runner. The filly was also quite impressive on her last two trips. After making a few unlucky rides, the Chris Wall-trained finally got it right in mid August, when seizing the runner-up place in the 32RedPoker.com Nursery
at Lingfield.
Owned by Des Thurlby, the 2-year-old delivered her career-best last time, when topping the table by a length’s distance in the 32RedPoker.com Nursery at Wolverhampton. Despite a lot of pressure, the 6-1 chance performed outstandingly to lead inside the final
furlong. The maiden success would have given her plenty of confidence.
Nevertheless, it is hard to overlook Wellingrove, who is showing continuous improvement these days. The situation is in his favour, and he just needs to come up with A-game in order to thrive today. An entertaining show is on the cards. We wish the best
of luck to all the runners.
