Question:

Wells Fargo Charged me for a phone call??

I just checked my online banking and Wells Fargo charged me $2.00 for calling their "toll free" number on the back of their card. Has anyone ever had this happen and what kind of action do I take to have it reversed? I was never told about the charge and it made my account go negative.

  1. Welcome to modern banking where you are "nickel and dime'd' to death! They figure that you can get this info online or from the ATM or the automated line. If you spoke to a person, you'll probably get charged.

Read the fine print on the rules of your checking account.

YOu'll also find that you probably only get one or two counter (inside) transactions per month as well - after you use your quota, they'll charge you! They charge for everything! IT's the New Way of Banking!

You can go to your local bank and speak to a human about it, and you can probably get this one reversed, but be aware of it in the future. Banks are making a killing on these $2 fees here and there against their customers.

If you don't agree to it, find a bank that suits your needs. It is a free country, after all!

  2. I know the guy before me said it was only $2. But I totally understand what you are saying. One of my family members banks with Wells Fargo and has been charged the $2 everytime they check their balance. They didnt know they were being charged until they noticed it on their bank statement and called to find out what the charge was about. Honestly, I have never heard of such thing..

Im not sure who you would get in touch with to change this policy (You gotta love banks and their policies. NOT!!) Maybe the head person at the bank. Explain to them that you were never told about this and that you would like this charge reversed. Again, banks are going to have their own policies, so Im sure they wont stop charging people.

There is a way to avoid the charge though. Why dont you set up to check your acct online?  That way you can see your recent transactions and check your acct balance anytime you want to without them charging you.

  3. You look really pissed at this...it's only $2!

  4. Yes, it is true they charge you 2 dollars.  I used to work for wells fargo and when they called the retail branch accidently or if i couldn't resolve their issue.  i told them to call the 1-800 number and that there would be a fee or there other alternative was to come to the bank.

I felt bad for old people that said they couldn't come in because of their limited mobility, but i couldn't do anything but apologize.

I would also go to a branch and tell them that you account was already over drawn and if they can waive the additinoal overdraft fee.  Just tell them you'll pay for the 2 dollars with cash. If they're nice they should let you do this
