Ok, so I just got 2 letters in mail saying I have overdraft fees. I go over to Wells Fargo and they tell me that I've been overdrawn for a week. I went to the ATM a couple days ago, checked my balance before withdrawing $40, and it said I had a $100 in there. SO now I have all these charges from them, they charged me 4 overdrafts in one day!! Now they say I am -$315. I have been warned about Wells Fargo, they really only care about getting money out of you, but go there b/c it is convenient and close to home.

Is there anything I can do??

Please help!!

  1. I have been dealing with them for years and have never had a problem.

When you took out you $40 in cash, and you had 100. in there, had you written any checks they could have just gotten to your bank at this time.   Sometime we forget to put them in the register, or we use the atm card to purchase stuff and don't enter that in the register either.

I would go into the bank and talk to someone in person, sometimes they will wave the fees unless it happens all the time.

  2. I've had Wells Fargo for about 5 years, and I've never had a single problem with them. Did you have any  outstanding checks, scheduled automatic drafts, or debit card transactions?

If you did, that could be the reason why you had an overdraft fees.  If you know you didn't have any of the above, it my just be a rare bank error. Once in a million years a bank will make a mistake.

Tip: Open a savings account and link it to your checking account so you can have overdraft protection.

Do you have online access set up?  It will tell you everything.
