Welsummer chickens ??

Question

i just found out i have a hen and a rooster { they were both supposed to be hens..}. i wanted all my chicks to be hens, and so far i only have the 1 that is DEFINATELY a rooster. the others are polish crested { 5 } and an americana . does anyone know about welsummer roosters ?? how tame and / or docile are they ?? do you think they will protect all the hens { hope no more are roosters } even though they are different breeds ?? any help will be appreciated. thank-you. { p.s. i have more coming in Augest....rhode island reds, new hampshire reds, black and red s*x link , Deleware's , buff minocora , and plymouth rocks } do you foresee any problems with these breeds eithor when we add them to the flock ??

Of the roosters I have had. . . A Black Astrolop,A Duckwig,A Delaware,A Bard Rock and now a Black Astrolop Mix,I haven't had a rooster yet that protected like I would have thought they would.

  About the only protection I have seen out of any of my roosters is that the rooster comes running when he hears a hen "squawk". . . I think they only come in the rescue mode when they think another rooster is trying to mess/mate with "his" hen.

  I have had cats to get into my pens and just as the hen's run,flop their wings etc to escape the cat,so does the rooster.

  Of the roosters I have had,the Black Astrolop Mix and the Duckwig were the more agressive roosters when it came to fighting for their dominance.  I had to make a choice as to which rooster to get rid of because of the fighting and since the Duckwig was almost 2 yrs old,he was the one I chose to eliminate. . . . seems as though when they reach the age of 2 roosters can lose their effectiveness for breeding purposes.

   I had a Welsummer hen that laid the most beautiful Amber colored eggs.  She was no more excitable than any of my other hens so I can't imagine the Welsummer Rooster being anymore so.
