Welton Arthur to succeed in the Grade OR Stayers – Duplicated at Sheffield on 17th April, 2012
Magna Sparrow, Tyrur Pudsy, Head Iton Eoin, Yahoo Dillon, Welton Arthur, and Proper Pink will compete in the Grade OR Stayers – Duplicated at Sheffield on 17th April, 2012. The six hounds will compete over 660 metres for £200.
The E. Parker trained black hound, Welton Arthur will race as a favourite with the odds of 9 to 4. His performance this season has been phenomenal, as he secured a placed finish in three of his four starts.
The son of Head Bound, out of Galtee Minnie, is currently on a hat-trick, which will be completed if he succeeds today. He bagged the first of two in the Grade A1 The Night Continues At Napoleons Casino at Sheffield on 6th April, 2012.
He raced as a joint favourite with, Ballymac Ramos, with winning odds of 2 to 1. While he triumphed, Ballymac Ramos finished in fourth place.
He landed the victory as he defeated runner-up, Old Fort Chief, by a marginal difference of a neck in 29.35 seconds.
Welton Arthur continued his winning run in the Grade OR Owlerton Bookmakers Stayers – Duplicated at the same track on 10th April, 2012. With the odds of 11 to 4, he defeated race favourite, Mr. Chow, by 3 ½ lengths in 39.22 seconds.
Winning two races at Sheffield is a definite advantage for the runner, as the familiarity with the track will work in his favour.
Magna Sparrow, whelped on 18th October, 2008, will race with the odds of 5 to 2. The son of Westmead Hawk, out of Stock Yard Janet, finished fifth in the Grade OR Universal Office Products Stayers at Sheffield on 10th April, 2012.
Despite his fifth place finish, the hound is capable of great achievements as he emerged victorious from the Grade OR Buttercup Race at the same venue on 18th March, 2012.
He entered the event as the favourite with the odds of 5 to 4, and defeated Derrane Jake, by 3 ¾ lengths in 39.09 seconds.
These two hounds are in top form, and they will be fighting to achieve first place today.
Welton Arthur looks like he may emerge victorious, but it will not be an easy victory for him as Magna Sparrow will give it his all.
