Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 is a victim of squad depth, which has constantly cost him a spot in the Gunners first team.
The Russian winger has managed to make one appearance for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the league this season, as he came off the bench in the opening game of the season.
Since then, it has been kind of hard to predict just when the winger would next play for the team, given the fact that there doesn’t seem to be any space on the team for him.
Wenger is well aware of the fact that the Russian is a little unhappy with the way things are turning out, but he also admitted that this was perfectly normal for a player who doesn’t get to play on a regular basis.
However, the manager did reveal that he has great respect for the attacker, mainly because of the professional attitude that he has shown to prove his worth at the club.
"I have personally a great respect for Andrey Arshavin because sometimes some wrong ideas are circulated about him - that he doesn’t care, but it’s completely the opposite," Wenger told
Arsenal Player.
"He’s a 200 per cent professional who works very hard in training every day.”

"At the moment he’s a victim of the high level of competition that exists for places. He has a huge respect from everybody in the dressing room, and especially from the staff.”

"I feel he’s unhappy that he doesn’t play because deeply he loves football and he practices every day with 100 per cent commitment. I’m happy to give him some competition on Wednesday night.”
Based on the manager’s comments, it is safe to assume that Wenger is going to go on and place the forward in the team that will play in the league cup.
This is going to be a glorious opportunity for Arshavin to prove to everyone just what he is capable of, given the fact that a lot of fingers are being pointed towards him.
Should he put in a brilliant performance, he could potentially mark his return to the first team, and hence ensure more first team action over the coming months.
