Wenger Targets Man City’s Players For Transfers
Ever Since United Arab Emirates Billionaire Sheikh Mansour invested in ‘The Eastlands’. Manchester City has been over flowing with an influx of cash and this has been enabling the Blues to buy off the world’s best players, adding them to their ranks.
So far this summer Roberto Mancini has spent over eighty million pounds and has added players like James Milner, David Silva, Jermoe Boateng and Mario Balotelli to his team.
But as Sir Alex Ferguson or even Arsene Wenger will point out to Robert Mancini; a great team is not one witrh a bunch of expensive players, the best teams groom their players, moulding them till they are ideal for their positions.
Another issue that has come up with Mancini overspending on the transfer budget is that the club has become packed and this means that a lot of talented players will miss out on a lot of play time.
With the summer transfer window still open , there is still time for Arsene Wenger to pounce on this opportunity and grab a player of his liking to further improve his own ranks.
Frenchman Wenger is looking for a defender, a keeper and hopefully another midfielder. He is worried if injuries persists then he wont be left with any quality players out on the field. From Manchester City’s listing, Wenger is interested in the following players:
Felipe Caicedo: The winger from Ecuador is destined for greatness. Felipe Caicedo is twenty one years old and with his deadly fast speed, his balance with the ball and his powerful and fierce shots he is touted to become the next South American Super star.
As with Manchester City’s recent inclusions including the likes of James Milner, David Silva, Roque Santa Cruz and Adam Johnson. It seems incredibly appealing that the player will move else where and Wenger has got his eyes set on him.
If Wenger does manage to sign Caicedo to ‘The Gunners’ then this will add intense depth in the forward and the midfield of the game. Plus there will be a talented replacement sitting in the stands just in case any one gets injured.
Dedryk Boyata: Boyata is only nineteen years old and performed really well last season and his performance in the Carling Cup was nothing less than spectacular. The Belgian teenager has made seven appearances for Manchester City so far.
Dedryk Boyata is a player that literally over flows with the promise of a better tomorrow. Currently Arsenal are a bit short in center backs and just may get this kid recruited to further add another gun to the Gunners.
Mancini may be a little hesitant to let such a talented starlet go but the fact remains that with so many new and talented players coming into the club, Boyata won’t get many chances to play and he may choose to move elsewhere.
Vincent Kompany: Kompany is the former defender from Hamsburg SV, his performances with Manchester City have been very impressive since he joined them in 2008.
Vincent Kompany is a very talented, imposing and powerful defender and will be gladly welcomed into the Arsenal squad. The twenty four year old can play as a mid fielder too, as he has solid control over the ball and seems to have awesome passing abilities.
Right now Kompany Is facing the same problems as Boyata, as there are so many talented new players coming in. The old players will not get many opportunities to play matches in the future.
Michael Johnson: This twenty two year old midfielder is very talented and boasts great speed, control and vision plus a phenomenal passing range. Johnson is out of his luck if he thinks that he will be looking at consistent playing time and it is very certain that a player of his caliber will be looking to other places now.
Shay Given: At the very top of the list is Shay Given because of Arsenals puzzling goal keeping problem, Arsene Wenger has spent the whole summer looking for quality goal keepers to add to the team. Given was actually excited with the idea of moving to the Emirates but Mancini refused to give the keeper up.
Still it is very unlikely that this shot stopper will be content with sitting at the benches this season and it is expected that the player will himself demand a move to another club. As the prospect of moving to Arsenal and playing in the first team is something that Given does not want to give up.
